Back in Orlando…For Now

It is so great to see Dara and the kids again after I've been gone. This trip was only two days, but it's so strange not sharing the day to day happenings with Dara and our wee little Docusens. God has done so much in the past two days. It's great to be able to share the stories face to face.Great to be home again...for now. A week and a half until we move to Charlotte 🙂

Amazed

I flew into Charlotte on Tuesday afternoon. My main objective for this trip was to find a place for us to live. With so many odds stacked against us in the natural, we knew that there had to be a miracle involved in this process. We still have our mortgage to pay on our condo that is yet to sell in Orlando, HOWEVER, we have felt that God told us to come up on June 16th. On top of our timeframe, we only had around $500/month to spend on a rental and we wanted to do a month to month lease.I drove around Charlotte for two days trying to find a place to live. So frustrating at times, but I just...

“Watch What I Do”

I want to share something that I have been feeling lately every time I pray. I am hesitant to completely open the vault sometimes on this blog because I don't want to share every last thing that God is doing in me, but I really feel like the past couple of days have been an exercise of my faith.I have honestly been going between having GREAT faith and feeling DOUBT creep in as we continue to try to sell our home. I know that God is doing this, but I also feel the responsibility of making the right decision as we move (rent or sell).Every single time I pray about this and re-establish the...

The Gathering Place

Dara and I took the kids this morning to The Gathering Place (Pastor Sam Hinn). What a great experience to simply attend church with no responsibilities. I loved walking into the lobby and feeling "like a visitor". Honestly, it took me a while to get into the mindset to receive instead of looking around and observing everything. I finally realized that I had the opportunity to worship with no distractions and really felt God do some very needed things in my life. What a great service. So timely. What a great morning.

Moving Date

I will go ahead and put it out there for all to see as a step of faith: I believe we are supposed to move to Charlotte on June 16th. We haven't sold our condo yet, so there will need to be some MAJOR miracles line up in the next 2+ weeks for this to happen. We need to sell our condo and find a place in Charlotte to live.I believe God has the details in order. I'm just trying to respond to his direction. Thanks for your prayers and support!

Meetings

Dara and I have had 4 fundraising meetings in the past three days. I can't express how grateful I am for people who have decided to give to our dream of bringing Hope to the Charlotte community. This is so amazing. I'm learning so much about God and his provision these days. I am gaining more and more confidence in the fact that God provides for the things he calls us to do.

Provision

I will probably be blogging quite a bit over the next few months about this topic, but I am simply amazed by God's provision. God called us to enter into this season of church planting and the step of faith that we had to take was the fact that there was no salary or benefits. We would have to raise the money to cover these expenses. That is well documented.I never could have imagined how God would provide.I have a very close friend that has decided to tap into his network of friends and associates and cast the vision that God placed in our hearts. He is putting his name on the line for us....

Unwinding

Each year Dara and I take a week after Master's Commission ends to just unwind and catch our breath after a long year of pretty intense ministry. We have really enjoyed the past couple of days as we are doing just that.On Sunday Dara and I went on a date and saw The Chronicles of Narnia. I loved it. Dara got all worked up because she LOVED the books and there was a love story woven into this script that didn't exist in the book. I, on the other hand, never read the books so I had no issues. Great movie. I really feel like God was speaking some things to me even as we sat there in the...

A Chapter of Life Closed

I remember coming to Calvary almost 7 years ago. I was fresh out of college and totally green. I had no full-time ministry experience and I had two responsibilities: lead worship and hang out with teenagers. Over the years, the responsibilities have grown and the experience has been priceless. This has been so much more than a place to learn, it has been my spiritual home.I will be forever marked by my time at Calvary. Today closes out a chapter of life that has impacted and shaped my life in so many ways. The greatest years of my life have come during my time at Calvary. I have realized so...
