Dara and I moved our first load of stuff into our new home. All of our kids toys and games now live in Uptown :-)We are taking the next five days to progressively move things one room at a time to our new place. We are so excited to live right in the heart of the city that we have been called to serve!

Such a great morning serving with our team from Center City Church. We took a group out to Friendship Trays (a non-profit organization in Charlotte that feeds 700+ people daily) to help prepare meals. We joined with their amazing staff and were able to knock out over 1,200 Thanksgiving meals today that will be delivered to families in need! I am so grateful for the people that God has brought to Center City. We are heading back again tomorrow and we're hoping that this turns into a lasting relationship between Friendship Trays and Center City.Great day!

We spent the weekend with Mark and Linda Derringer and their girls (visiting us from Orlando, FL). Had a great time connecting with a family that we love, admire and respect.Mark is a great head of their home. He works hard to provide for his family and loves Linda and the girls deeply. Linda is an incredible mother and role model for the girls. They, like us, have four children. Their girls range from pre-teen to twenty years old. I am in a season of life that I am working toward the realization of dreams that have been in my heart for years. It's amazing because I am seeing dreams come alive in front of my eyes every day. All of these dreams include people. Lots of people. People I know and people I am still to meet. I don't want to do this alone. I don't want my family to live life alone on a self-created Docusen Island. God has blessed Dara and I with a like-minded group of people that share common dreams for their lives. A couple of months ago, I wrote a blog called "Moving to the Center of the Board". I explained that a basic strategy in chess was to control the center of the board. If you can accomplish this simple plan, you are in prime position to attack or defend. I related that to the fact that Dara and I felt God's call to move to Uptown Charlotte (the community where we are planting Center City Church). I am so grateful for the season that we are in right now at Center City Church. I am humbled by the opportunity to be a part of this amazing group of people. We met tonight in a living room in Uptown Charlotte and talked about Christ's example of humility. The initial group that God has brought together at Center City is amazing. I love what I do, but my favorite part of every day is coming home to my wife and kids. Every time I come home after being gone for the day, all four Docusen kids come running to the door screaming "DAAADDDYYY"!!!! I am so grateful for an amazing wife and my beautiful children. I love coming home!
