First Missions Check!

I had the overwhelming privilege of giving our first missions check today from Center City Church!

We have committed to give at least ten percent of all of our tithes, offerings and donations to missions (both stateside and around the world). It is so exciting to know that we are able to be a blessing to others as God faithfully provides for us.

What an exciting, unforgettable day!

Slow and Steady

As Dara and I have prayed about the beginning stages of Center City Church, we keep on coming back to the simple phrase “slow and steady”. I keep on telling our core team (which is now at 20+ people) that we never get a chance to start again. Over the next couple of months, we have an incredible opportunity to intentionally focus on the foundation of this church.

We will be starting our weekly gatherings in September, but we will not be obtaining a meeting place at that point. We will be focusing on our core team and gathering in our living room. God has brought together a phenomenal team around us. It’s up to Dara and I as leaders to thoroughly communicate the vision that God has put in our hearts. We will take our time as we slowly and deliberately talk about who we are and why we do what we do. We will listen as our core team dialogues with us about what they anticipate and expect. Our communication will deepen our understanding of each other and form a strong foundation for the life and health of Center City Church.

We never get a chance to start again, so we might as well enjoy the beginning stages and not be afraid to take it slow and steady.

Back In Charlotte

We returned last night after spending 10 days in Orlando. So great to re-connect with family and friends. Dara and I have an overnight strategy in our travels to Orlando. We leave at 6pm, drive for a while with the kids awake, then (in theory) they fall asleep for the remainder of the drive. It actually worked last night and we had a solid 4+ hours of peace and quiet on the tail end of our trip.

So great to be home. I love Charlotte.

Church Multiplication Network

I’m excited to say that Center City Church has affiliated with the Church Multiplication Network. This is the largest church planting organization in the world. The phenomenal leadership and vision is a part of the Assemblies of God (based in Springfield, MO).

The A/G is also the largest missions organization in the world, with missionaries reaching over 250 countries around the world. We are proud to partner with the efforts of this great organization!

General Council / National Youth Convention

Dara and I are spending the week in Orlando. We are helping out at a gathering of pastors from across the world called General Council. Top that off with a coinciding event called National Youth Convention and that adds up to 24,000 people at the Orange County Convention Center. It’s so great to connect with friends from all over the country that come together for this event.

We will be running like chickens with our heads cut off all week, but we are going to have a ton of fun!
