I have been so overwhelmed by the generosity of so many – both local and across the country – over the past several days. We have a goal to raise $10,000 toward the life and ministry of Center City Church in the last week of 2010. And we are getting closer and closer to that goal. We have seen thousands of dollars given in just a matter of days as people give year end, tax-deductible contributions.
Finances will always be one of – if not THE – biggest challenges to a new church. The finances of a these fledgling organizations depend on the generosity – and Biblical obedience – of many people. We try to teach the principle of tithing (the first 10% of your income is given to the local church), but can’t talk about it all the time because it’s not the only topic. So faith is put fully in the provision of the Lord and the generosity of people.
