I’m reading “Pour Your Heart Into It” by Howard Schultz (head honcho of Starbucks). Here’s a thought that really stuck out to me (page 106):
If you want to build a great enterprise, you have to have the courage to dream great dreams. If you dream small dreams, you may succeed in building something small. For many people, that is enough. But if you wan to achieve widespread impact and lasting value, be bold. Who wants a dream that’s near-fetched?
I am in a season of dreaming some pretty big things right now. So much in my heart and in my spirit for the future. I don’t want to regret not going for the things that God put inside of me. Lord, help me to dream great dreams. Help me to dream YOUR dreams for my life.
Speaking of Howard (pretending we are on first name bases) I thought it spoke volumes when the powers that be shut down ALL of their stores for “revamping” and “training” purposes. Even the “king of coffee” felt the need to make better changes….or as you put it…dream even BIGGER for his company.
yeah. i remember that, too. i was so ticked. i had just sat down with my double tall no foam latte and was about to enjoy a few minutes of caffeinated sanctuary and they kicked me out.
Me too! I was ordering my triple short sugar free caramel machiatto breve shaken over ice and they interrupted me in the middle of my order. ??
