I have the honor this weekend of performing the wedding ceremony for Jerred Peacock and Randi Sturts. I can’t help but get a bit emotional when I think about what’s coming tomorrow.

I met Jerred when I first started at Calvary in 2001. He was a 15 year old high school sophomore with a huge heart for his campus. We instantly connected and began to form a friendship that has lasted throughout high school and on through his college years. Jerred came on staff with me at Calvary Orlando Master’s Commission in 2006 and still serves on staff at Calvary. He is one of the closest guys in my life.

I’m so proud of the man he’s become.

I met Randi over the telephone. She was in Ohio considering the move to Orlando to come to our MC program. She backed out at the last minute and never showed up in the fall of 2005. I really felt like she was supposed to be there, so all throughout the year I continued to call her. She IGNORED my calls for most of the year, but finally showed up in the class of 2006/2007. Randi’s grace and elegance is so beautiful. She is reserved by nature but a powerful woman of God in her own right.

I’m so proud of the woman she’s become.

These are the rewards of a life committed to ministry. Tomorrow is a huge day that’s all about Jerred and Randi. They are an amazing couple and we’re honored to be a part of their lives. There will be a quiet moment tomorrow where Dara and I look at them and simply thank God for letting us be a part of their story.

Dara and I are so proud of Jerred and Randi.
