I have been listening to the song “God of This City” (by Chris Tomlin) for the past few weeks. I find myself driving around Charlotte praying and crying. This song has really hit a nerve with me and my heart breaks for this city.
I love the people here. I love Uptown Charlotte and all of the communities and neighboring cities. God has put a love in my heart for this town that I have never known. I believe with all my heart that the chorus of this song is so true:
Greater things are yet to come
Greater things are still be done in this city
Greater things are yet to come
Greater things are still to be done here
I believe that we have not seen the greatest miracles that God has in store. I believe we have not seen the amazing things that will go down in history as people respond to the love and relationship of Christ.
I love Charlotte.
It is so funny that you are sharing about this song because I have been listening to this song a lot, as well, and it has definitely been striking a chord with me. I do not know how to describe it…all i know is that there is still more to be done. I know this is true for Orlando, but lately I just can’t help to think that I am supposed to be somewhere different. And I do not know if that means moving away or just to a different part of town. It is definitely something I have been praying about though. Well, I pray God uses you the way he needs you to be used and that you allow him to do his will through you. Love ya man. See ya in less then a month!
