Luke 18:17 – I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.

I was on the stage Sunday morning during the final part of Mike’s message. As I looked out at the crowd, I saw something that gripped my attention and impacted me so deeply. Upon completing his message, Mike asked if there were people who were in need of healing in their lives.

Sitting in the second row was an elementary aged boy with his father. He has been battling a sickness for several years. His lifted hands were formed in the shape of a cup as he reached to heaven. Tears streamed down his face as he was literally crying out to God to set him free.

My mind was instantly reminded of the many times that Jesus instructed us to have faith like a child. When this boy was raising his hands to heaven, the expression on his face was filled with expectation that God would do exactly what Mike was talking about. He believed that God would heal him.

I need this. I need to lift my hands to heaven as tears stream down my face. I need to believe like a child. Life has taught me to believe in what I can do. What is logical. What is practical. Faith like a child means reaching out to to heaven with full expectation that our unseen God is on the other side of our cries.

Lord, help me to have faith like a child.
