I have spent the day cuddling Max, Mary and Jack back to health as Dara has Baby Ben over at her mom's house. We sent them over there yesterday to make sure he doesn't pick up this stomach virus the other three have had.After putting Max and Jack down for a nap, I cuddled with Mary on the couch. I asked her, "Mary, what movie do you want to watch?" She looked back at me with her best "sick face" and said, "Daddy, sick girls can't think." Hilarious, even when she's not feeling well 🙂

It's amazing to me what happens when one kid gets sick in our home. It's like everything comes to a screeching halt. Jack came down with a really bad stomach virus and it's effectively made it's way from Jack to Max to Mary in the past three days.We shipped off Baby Ben today to Dara's mom and dad so that he doesn't catch whatever the other kids have. Crazy days filled with lots of ginger ale, crackers, chicken noodle soup and lots of cuddling our munchkins.

We have to have set some sort of record for the amount of times Jack has thrown up in the past three days. I feel so bad for him. The doctor thinks it's some kind of virus.Mary is hilarious, though. Whenever he pukes or...well...the other end, she plugs her nose and walks around the house saying "JACK STIIIIINNNKSS!!!!" or "JACK SMELLS TERRIBLE!!!"I feel bad for Jack, but Mary provides the comic relief for the moment.

We sent off our paycheck request to our direct deposit company on Tuesday. At that point we were still $200 short from getting a full paycheck this month. This is the lowest our account has ever been since our move to Charlotte. I love updating this blog so all can see God's amazing provision.We got two checks in the mail today for $550. Our March paycheck is now covered with a bit left over to get us into April :-)Is this amazing to anyone other than me? I don't want to sound like broken record, but God's provision is absolutely, positively more than enough. He always provides. I rejoice...

I have never been more excited and more fulfilled than I am today. The church is going great and the vision for the future is exciting. That being said, I don't believe my margins have ever been quite so thin.Balancing life and ministry can be very tricky at times. Add in a second job and the challenge becomes even more formidable. I have made a commitment to myself that I will not let the challenges of my schedule steal my time from being a great husband and father. I have had some great conversations with some great friends lately surrounding the topic of accountability. I always think of accountability as an incredibly awkward step toward true growth. It's not easy to admit when you've done something wrong or stepped out of line. It's so valuable, however, to have a friend that you can share the ups and downs of life together.This got me thinking about a great program that I wanted to put on the blogosphere map. Jack (our two year old) was feeling creative yesterday so he grabbed a bunch of Play-Doh and started making shapes and a complete and utter mess. He was obviously feeling hungry as well because he stuck his finger in the Play-Doh, got a nice big chunk and stuck it in his mouth. He immediately looked at me as I'm beginning my disgusted discipline process to teach him not to eat his toys when he says: "I like Play-Doh."Gross. And cute.

I tried something new this month.Last month I spent the better part of two weeks absolutely freaking out. I was stressed because I had no idea where our paycheck was going to come from and I tried everything I could think of to provide for my family. During the last week of the month, God provided our full paycheck through multiple people who gave. I learned a lesson: God is our provider. Not me. My dad and brother came in town two weeks ago. They both chipped in and we got a ping pong table. It seems to be a bit of a family obsession. There has been much pinging and ponging at our house the past couple of weeks.Maybe I can go pro. Or go to the 2012 Olympics. Or at least beat my dad. We should start there.

This has been a full week at the Docusen home!We got back from vacation on Monday and immediately welcomed some great friends (Jeff Senechal and Jess Skerritt) in from Canada. Tonight we welcomed Sashell Skaff in from Florida.We absolutely love having our friends come to Charlotte and sharing the story of the past nine months here and what God is doing in our lives. Every time we tell the story our faith increases as we tell of God's faithfulness.And we love hanging out 🙂
