We just got back from an amazing week in the mountains of North Carolina. Thanks to Jeff and Sheryl for allowing our family to get away for a week in their amazing cabin 3,000+ feet above sea level (and above all cell towers!). No phones or internet all week at the cabin…a MAJOR adjustment for us!
We had such a great time and God really refreshed us while we were away. This was such a timely gift for our family. We spent long, lazy days relaxing and exploring the mountains with the kids. I even got to take Max skiing for the first time (4 years old!). He did a great job and we had some cool dad/son moments on the slopes.
Beyond that, we had our first meeting for Hope Church. Awesome meeting with people who have expressed interest in planting this church with us in North Charlotte. We also got to wander around the area looking for a new home and a location for the church. Much fun.
Back into the swing of things in Orlando again…can’t wait to get back with our amazing MC students and get rolling on the second semester with them.
One final story…
We were coming off the mountain and my phone got back into cell range, and my phone went and connected to our e-mail server and came back: 222 unread e-mails.
Wow.
Hey Duke! Very exciting news for you and your family…My parents are actually living in the Charlotte area now. So beautiful and amazingly affordable! Maybe I’ll drop in while visiting them =)Blessings,Sarah
