Dara and I have just registered for the Yiasou Greek Fest 5k on August 29th in Charlotte. This race is a part of an organization called "Run For Your Life" that puts on several 5k races and marathons in Charlotte each year.We were both really hitting the gym hard before we moved to Charlotte, but have fallen off the horse since. We figured if we set a goal it would help us to stay motivated to get back into the gym. We are both excited to have a shared goal that we can work towards together. We're going to try to get some more of our friends involved and make it a group event!

Dara and I packed up and headed to Orlando this week with the munchkins. It's so great to be able to reconnect with our family and friends. God has blessed us with an amazing family that loves us and supports us in everything we do. Great times!

(Charles Spurgeon)I am challenged today to give God every part of my life. My heart. My marriage. My children. My family. My friends. My ministry. My finances. My hopes, dreams and desires. "Every room and the key of every chamber."I serve a God that is not only fair and right, but fully JUST. I can give him the keys to my life because when I find myself in submission to him, I find myself fully alive.

I walked by these two banners today in the main lobby of our theater and simply had to appreciate the irony.

I am spending all day today with my babies at the house. I have so much respect for what Dara does every single day. The kids have been awesome and we are having a lazy day around the Docusen home.I love the fact that Dara and I are a team. She is off today hosting a ladies event with her mother. They have worked so hard to bring it all together and there will be a lot of women who feel really special because of their efforts today. I love the fact that we are in this together. I couldn't do what I do without her and vice versa.

I spoke this Sunday on the topic of fear. Spent the entire morning unpacking 2 Timothy 1:7:"For God has not given us the spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline." This turned out to be an incredibly personal message and I actually shared some things that I have never before shared publicly about our journey in planting Hope Church. I spent the morning studying Ephesians 5:22-24. This portion of the Scriptures is famously and continuously abused, perverted and contorted to fit an improper definition of the role of wives submitting to husbands.vs. 22-24 - For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. A follow-up to an earlier blog titled "What I Read":I failed to mention how easy it is to follow most bloggers. I mentioned that I follow Guy Kawasaki, Seth Godin, Brad Lomenick, Mark Batterson,etc. The way that I review these blogs is via email. Most blogs have a subscription option (usually along the side of their web page). I jumped back on the fundraising train as we continue to raise support for this month and the months to come. I am sending out some more packets to churches today.I have learned a really important lesson in the past year. I have learned that my role is to present the vision and the opportunity to partner with us. God puts it on people's hearts to give. I do all I can and then release it to God so he does all he can for us. Great deal 🙂
