The Smile of God

I am beginning to realize that God's smile takes on many different faces. Let me explain...The sound system that we need to launch Hope Church should cost around $70,000. Mike was at a gathering of pastors and it turned out that another pastor had a system for sale. To make a long story short...we ended up getting our entire sound system, in-ear monitors, kids church equipment, travel cases, a trailer to haul everything in AND a brand new GRETSCH drum kit (complete with a full plexi-glass shield as to not melt everyone's faces off with the volume). I'm not done...FINAL PRICE:...

7.5 hours till we leave

We are leaving for Orlando tomorrow morning at 7am. This has been such a great trip for our team. God has done some great things within the group, and it is always such a joy to see the students really rise to the occasion when given the opportunity to minister. I was so proud of Tony as I sat back and watched him preach on this trip. So proud of John Gum as he was leading this weekend at the ACC Tournament (our team was running concessions for this event). He just filled the leadership gap so well. So proud of the students that took steps forward in their relationship with God...even...

Great night!

We had a great gathering on Thursday night for people who have expressed interest in launching Hope Church with us. What an encouraging night of gathering together to cast vision and look to the future. I am so excited to see what's next 🙂

Mallard Creek Church Road

We just pulled into Charlotte and it is so great to be here! Pulling into the city and taking in the sights of our future home is so amazing. Every time I pass by Exit 46 (Mallard Creek Church Road) my heart feels something special.I know God has called us to do this.I am resolute in our calling to serve the Charlotte community.I am burdened by the amount of people in this area that need to know and understand the love and reality of Christ.I am so excited to make new friends and meet new people.I am so glad to be here.

On The Farm

We are back in Hopewell, VA after a VERY interesting past couple of days. Let me explain. We left New Jersey on Saturday morning and were en route to our next stop...Eaton, OH. The pastor of that church called us and told us that a terrible snow monsoon (I just made that term up) had hit Ohio and they were canceling their services for the weekend. He told us that it was too unsafe for us to continue traveling and it would be wise to stop and head south. We stopped at a gas station in the middle of Pennsylvania and I literally got out a map of the USA and just stared at it for several minutes....

Frequent Driver Rewards

I wish that there was a such thing as Frequent Driver rewards. You know...similar to the airlines that give awards for flying with them. I need a Frequent Driver reward for driving this 26 passenger church bus around the country. That would be incredible...We are currently on our annual Master's Commission road trip. Monday morning we left Orlando and arrived that night in Hopewell, VA. Tuesday we went to Williamsburg and saw one of the first colonies in America. Wednesday we stopped in Washington DC to check out Ebenezers and be tourists for a couple of hours. That night we arrived in...

Chuck Norris!

This is HILARIOUS! If you go to Google and type in "find chuck norris" and hit "i feel lucky". This is what pops up...(I totally swiped this from Tory Farina's blog...so worth it).I think it is so funny that this guy is like a living legend even though he hasn't done one thing (except kick butt) in the past 15 years. Wow...

Sheep and Goats

Had an amazing Encounter (COMC Chapel) service today. We talked about the fact that staying faithful today is the key to figuring out what God has for us tomorrow. In 1 Samuel, you find that on the same day that David was anointed the next king of Israel, he was found in the fields tending the sheep and the goats. Probably not on the top of his desired vocation list. However, he was found being faithful in the job that was given to him.For our MC students, tending the sheep and goats means pouring everything they have into this year at COMC. It means faithfully serving the ministries that...

Road Trip

I got to spend yesterday and today with my good friend Art Van Zanten (director at Ft. Myers Master's Commission). We drove to Jacksonville last night and spent this morning with Jacksonville MC and did a Q&A with their students and staff. Really cool experience. I love Master's because the students are so hungry...so ready to be fed and to grow.Fun day.
