A Word From the Chairman of the Board at Center City Church

Posted on March 21, 2016

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Center City Church, I want to express our sincere excitement and support of the newly signed lease at the Movement Center. This leads toward Center City Church renovating the warehouse space into a multiple purpose venue that will be home to both corporate worship gatherings and UrbanPromise (www.urbanpromisecharlotte.org), which reaches children through after school and summer programs, and raises high school leaders who are employed as mentors in these programs. This collaborative project joins the Center City Church family with amazing non-profit partners at the Movement Center to reach our city with the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

This is about so much more than a building. This is about God bringing together key relationships and partnerships. This is about a city and the move of God that will continue to go forth to the people of Charlotte.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Pastor David and Dara Docusen for their vision and leadership. Thank you to Casey Crawford, Brett McDonough, Garrett McNeill, and the Movement Foundation for their vision for the West Charlotte community, and their desire to bring together non-profit ministries that are choosing to strategically partner together. Thank you to Hope Duckworth and the K&L Gates Charlotte Law Firm for their representation of Center City Church through the due diligence period and to the Stewardship Team, Elders, and Staff at Center City Church for leading with wisdom and faith.

We believe the best days are yet to come.

Doug Witherup
Chairman of the Board of Directors
