Primal

I have just started reading Mark Batterson’s new book, Primal: A Quest for the Lost Soul of Christianity. I have made it through about thirty pages and I had to put it down for a bit. Don’t want to fly past all of the things that I feel like God is doing in me right now.

I can easily say that the first 30 pages of this book have challenged me more than any other (non-Bible) reading I have done this year. In a good way. I can feel myself really digging deep to try to get to the core of who I am in Christ. I’ll write more about this book in the coming week, but for now, I need to put it down and digest the challenge of getting back to the primal conviction of compassion.

Simply put: What makes me glad, sad or mad? And what am I doing about it?
